Sorry Not Sorry- Episode 11
This week’s episode of Sorry Not Sorry was all about goodbyes, crossroads, and finally—FINALLY—some romance! Our leading lady is this close to leaving the neighborhood, friendships are shifting, and Hyun-woo is no longer holding back(until, of course, that jaw-dropping ending!). We also got an unexpected confession (bye, Yi-ahn!), a big proposal from Eun-gyu, and an emotional moment from our favorite little guy, JG. Let’s get into it!
Hana’s New Beginning & Chan-yang’s Baby Dilemma
Hana is officially off to have her baby (good luck, queen!), and she reminds Song-yi that just because she’s moving, she can’t disappear from their lives. And because she’s the best, she even calls later to recommend Song-yi for a management job so she can move somewhere with a fresh start. (Hana, my girl, we love you!)
Meanwhile, Chan-yang has a very different reaction to Song-yi moving—she panics and decides she needs to get pregnant ASAP. (Ma’am?!?) This puts poor Jin-ho under so much pressure, and when they should be “doing their homework” (aka babymaking), he comes home drunk instead.
But the truth finally spills out—Chan-yang doesn’t really want a baby. She just feels disconnected and lonely. She admits she married Jin-ho because he’s kind and because she wanted to escape her old life, but even marriage got boring after the honeymoon phase. And then Song-yi came along and brought color into her life. (Okay, my heart!)
And that’s when it clicks—Chan-yang was only rushing into motherhood because Song-yi is leaving. (Cue my ugly crying.)
Yi-ahn’s Final Confession (We All Saw This Coming)
Over at the café, Song-yi is doing a full rundown of everything Yi-ahn needs to know before she leaves, and Yi-ahn finally says what we all knew was coming: he likes her. (Bless him for trying!)
Using a relay race metaphor (of course he did), Yi-ahn talks about missing his chance because he hesitated. And while Song-yi knew about his feelings all along, she tells him timing wasn’t on their side—that sometimes love creeps up on you without realizing it. (And we all know exactly who she’s talking about!)
Yi-ahn, sweet as ever, accepts her answer, and they end on good terms. Goodbye, second-lead syndrome—you had a good run.
A Huge Decision: New York or Stay?
As if Song-yi wasn’t dealing with enough, Eun-gyu drops a massive question: “Come to New York with me and JG.”
At first, Song-yi turns it down. She doesn’t want to be a burden, and she figures she should stay and figure things out on her own. But when Eun-gyu reminds her she could study English, get a fresh start, and help with JG, Song-yi finds herself wondering—why doesn’t she feel excited about this idea?
She gets her answer when JG runs away (cue my panic!). After hearing he was moving to the U.S., JG took matters into his own hands and went straight to Hyun-woo’s office (because his friend told him that when you have a problem, you go to a lawyer! I CANNOT with this kid—he’s too cute!).
When Song-yi and Eun-gyu rush over, JG tearfully admits he doesn’t want to move, and Hyun-woo, in the most subtle way possible, hints that maybe Song-yi doesn’t either.
Hyun-woo’s Not-So-Subtle Confession (MY HEART!)
Now, let’s talk about the moment we’ve all been waiting for—Hyun-woo finally admitting how he feels.
Last week, he blurted out that he didn’t want Song-yi to leave, but this week, he put actual words to it. He admits it wasn’t his divorce that shattered him—it was having his expectations crushed. He hates expecting anything from people, but somehow, Song-yi keeps making him hope again.
“I can’t wait to see you. Even when I know it’ll be noisy and messy, I still look forward to it.”
EXCUSE ME?!? Are we watching the same emotionally-repressed lawyer?!
When Song-yi point-blank asks if he has feelings for her, Hyun-woo—in peak rom-com fashion—answers with a smug, “You could say that.” (Sir, just say ‘yes’ and kiss her already!)
Understandably, Song-yi panics and runs into her apartment. (Girl, NO!) But when she comes back out, Hyun-woo worriedly asks if he scared her. Song-yi admits she needs to think, and they both agree that as two divorcees, romance isn’t something to rush into.
Later, when Song-yi finds Hyun-woo asleep on his office couch, she covers him with a blanket and catches herself gazing at him. (That’s it. She’s gone. She just doesn’t know it yet.)
FINALLY, THEY’RE GOING ON A DATE… OR ARE THEY?!?
Later, Song-yi meets Hyun-woo outside work, and he tells her he’s been thinking—maybe he rushed things. (I swear if he backtracks, I will riot!)
Song-yi assumes this means he’s taking back his confession (cue her mini panic attack), so she takes the plunge and confesses her feelings first! (YES, GIRL!) She admits she was tempted by New York, but she wants to stay close because she likes him.
AND THEN—because he loves to mess with our emotions—Hyun-woo finally clarifies:
“I felt like I rushed it because I should’ve wined and dined you first.” (STOP IT, SIR!)
And then he seals it with: “It doesn’t matter where you are in the world. I’ll wait for you until you’re ready.”
MY HEART. I’M DEAD.
With both of them smiling like idiots, they agree to go on a date the next day. FINALLY, we are getting somewhere!
BUT THEN…
The final scene.
Song-yi arrives at the restaurant, all dressed up, ready for her date, only to see Hyun-woo sitting with another woman… and she’s holding his hand.
EXCUSE ME?!? SIR, WHAT IS THIS?!?
DramaZen's Opinion
JUST LET THEM BE HAPPY! ðŸ˜
THIS. EPISODE. I AM NOT OKAY!
First off, I love how much growth we saw from Song-yi this week. She finally faced her feelings, let go of Yi-ahn gently, and realized why she didn’t want to leave. Character development, we love to see it!
Also, JG running to Hyun-woo for legal help?! I AM MELTING. This child is the best.
AND THEN HYUN-WOO. My man was SO CLOSE! He finally opened up, they finally admitted their feelings, they finally planned a date, and then—BAM—mystery woman holding his hand at the restaurant?!
WHO IS SHE?!?
If anyone so much as tries to ruin my OTP, I will throw hands. 😤
