Sorry Not Sorry- Episode 3
This week’s episode of Sorry Not Sorry was a wild ride of unexpected twists, awkward run-ins, and laugh-out-loud moments. Song-yi is still navigating her messy post-divorce life, but things are getting even more complicated thanks to her neighbor, her younger boss, and her ex-best friend’s questionable advice. Let’s break it down!
Song-yi kicks things off by venting to Hana about her ex-boyfriend Jin-ho’s late-night call last week. She can’t believe he used the “sexless marriage” excuse to hit on her and dismisses him as too dim to pull off such a tactic. Hana hilariously reminds her that a decade is plenty of time for someone to become a sly fox, but Song-yi isn’t buying it.
As it turns out, Jin-ho’s situation is more pitiful than predatory. When he calls Song-yi again, she meets him on the stairs with a flashlight under her chin like she’s in a horror movie. Jin-ho confesses that his wife, Chan-yang, is more interested in her iPad than their marriage. Cue Song-yi’s hilarious commentary about how his abs are “on point” but clearly not enough to hold her attention.
When Chan-yang shows up at Song-yi’s café, Song-yi and her boss Yi-ahn crack the iPad’s passcode. What do they find? X-rated web novels. Song-yi explains that the fictional men Chan-yang is into are the complete opposite of Jin-ho, advising him to spice things up. Jin-ho’s attempt to “talk dirty” is painfully awkward but surprisingly effective. The result? Chan-yang is finally interested, and Jin-ho is forever grateful to Song-yi. The final gag comes when Jin-ho calls her in a panic after accidentally leaving the handcuff keys at home during a motel escapade with Chan-yang. Comedy gold!
Song-yi’s ongoing bickering with her neighbor Cha Hyun-woo is becoming the highlight of the series. This week, Hyun-woo is back to leaving passive-aggressive Post-its about JG’s toy jeep in the hallway, claiming it’s a fire hazard. Song-yi claps back with sass, but Hyun-woo shuts her down with a burn about trusting internet legal advice. Their tension-filled banter is pure entertainment.
The universe keeps throwing them together in the most inconvenient ways. At a restaurant, they have yet another awkward encounter when Song-yi is out for dinner with Yi-ahn. Hyun-woo just happens to be there with a client, and he tuts at her like an annoyed older brother, leaving Song-yi fuming. Later, when Hyun-woo advises Song-yi not to pursue romance until her divorce is finalized, she literally shushes him like a child. Their fiery dynamic is impossible to ignore — are we sensing a spark here?
Feeling stuck in a rut, Song-yi takes Hana’s advice to visit a fortune teller. Though she’s skeptical at first, the fortune teller delivers some intriguing predictions: her “prince charming” is nearby, and she shouldn’t move away. The problem? Song-yi is looking everywhere except at her obvious match, Hyun-woo. Instead, she sets her sights on Yi-ahn, her sweet but much younger boss.
Yi-ahn takes Song-yi out to a fancy restaurant, but things go hilariously wrong when she shows up in sweats and no makeup. While she’s busy sprucing herself up in the bathroom, Song-yi runs into Hyun-woo again (because, of course, he’s everywhere). Despite her best efforts to treat the dinner like a romantic date, her awkwardness peaks when Yi-ahn reveals he’s only 28. Cue the expensive wine spit-take!
DramaZen's Opinion
This episode had me laughing, cringing, and screaming at my screen in the best way possible! Song-yi is as chaotic and relatable as ever, and I can’t get enough of her awkward antics. From her bickering with Hyun-woo (the chemistry is undeniable, let’s be real) to that hilariously disastrous “date” with her younger boss Yi-ahn, she just keeps finding new ways to entertain me. The wine spit-take? Comedy gold.
Also, can we talk about Jin-ho? I was ready to write him off as the creepiest ex ever, but this week flipped the script! Turns out, he’s more clueless than creepy, and his whole “sexless marriage” storyline had me howling. The handcuff key debacle at the end? I nearly fell off my chair. Bless his dim little heart.
But let’s not ignore the slow-burn tension brewing between Song-yi and Hyun-woo. They argue like an old married couple, and I’m here for every snarky, sassy interaction. The fortune teller’s prediction about her “prince charming” being nearby? We all know who that is, right?
This show just keeps getting better, mixing heartfelt moments with laugh-out-loud comedy. Song-yi’s journey is messy, hilarious, and so real — I’m loving every minute of it. Can’t wait to see what next week brings! 💕
