Sorry Not Sorry- (Final) Episode 12
It’s time to say goodbye to Sorry Not Sorry, and this show delivered exactly what we signed up for—romance, laughs, chaos, and the cutest found family. Our leading lady finally figured out what direction life was pushing her in, our friendships remained unshakable, and our favorite lawyer finally got the girl! Let’s break down all the heartwarming, hilarious, and perfectly fluffy moments from the finale.
We pick up right where we left off—Song-yi witnessing what she thought was Hyun-woo being all cozy with another woman. (Cue the dramatic fantasy of her throwing food in his face—iconic, but sadly, just in her head.) Instead of facing things head-on, our girl does what any reasonable rom-com heroine would do—she ghosts him.
Meanwhile, life throws another wrench in her plans—her house sale falls through after the buying couple also goes through a messy cheating scandal. (Karma is real, folks!). The realtor asks if she wants to keep their deposit (legally, she can), but because Song-yi has been in their shoes before, she refuses. (Our girl has a heart of gold.)
But the biggest issue? Avoiding Hyun-woo isn’t working.
Hyun-woo is so confused. (Poor guy!).
First, Song-yi hides from him in Yi-ahn’s café (twice!) while he unknowingly sits with the same woman from the restaurant. (I AM SCREAMING!). Yi-ahn, bless him, tries to help, but every time Song-yi ducks and covers, she just gets more upset with herself. (Girl, just TALK to him!)
Then, Hyun-woo casually walks past the real estate office and sees Song-yi’s apartment listing is back up. He immediately assumes that’s why she’s acting weird. (Not even close, my guy.)
Feeling concerned, he goes to check on her—only for Eun-gyu to block him at the door and say she’s too upset to talk. At this point, Hyun-woo is 100% lost and probably deserves some emotional compensation for all this confusion.
At work, Song-yi finally stops hiding, but she’s ice cold to Hyun-woo. He assumes she’s still upset about the house, so he tries comforting her—only for her to burst into tears and shove him away. (Oh noooo!)
And then she yells “I hate you!” at him. (Ma’am. PLEASE!)
At this point, lightbulb moment! Hyun-woo finally realizes—she saw him with his ex-wife.
Instead of getting defensive, he validates her feelings (because he’s a KING) and gently asks her to just listen to him.
Turns out, his only conversation with his ex was about her going on a reality TV show about divorce (Drama Alert!) and whether Hyun-woo would be okay with her exposing his past heartbreak on national television.
That’s. It.
Even better—her café meeting? A total coincidence. She wasn’t there for Hyun-woo—she was checking out Yi-ahn(who is now being scouted for a dating show, LMAO).
Song-yi, now realizing how stupidly dramatic she’s been, holds Hyun-woo’s hand on their walk home (cue my squealing!). He tells her, next time, just talk to me, and he will always answer honestly.
AND THEN WE GET THE FIRST KISS. (This was NOT a drill, people!!!)
Where Are They Now? Our Friendship Roundup
✔ Hana: Off having her baby, but still managing to micromanage her friends over the phone. Icon.
✔ Chan-yang & Jin-ho: Babysit Hana’s twins (aka birth control 101). Jin-ho, accidentally being the sweetest human alive, reassures them that their parents love them even though they’re away. Cue: Chan-yang realizing Jin-ho would make an amazing dad. OH?
✔ Yi-ahn: Now a reality TV star. (I CAN’T. IT’S TOO FUNNY!)
✔ Ethan’s mum: Thriving post-divorce and starting her own business. We love a redemption arc!
One Last Twist: Is Song-yi Still Moving?
With Eun-gyu and JG preparing to leave, Song-yi accepts that things are changing. But just as she and Hyun-woo are getting cozy (yes, this means tickling, cuddling, and general adorable nonsense), Eun-gyu drops a bombshell—she’s staying in Korea!
She finally admits: JG needs his family. And honestly? So does she.
And just like that, everything falls into place.
The final montage? PURE. PERFECTION.
Song-yi doesn’t sell her house, everyone gathers for a backyard BBQ, and the entire gang is there, even Hana through the phone.
There’s teasing, laughter, and Hyun-woo absolutely getting roasted by Song-yi’s friends for his newfound soft boyfriend era. (Rightfully so!)
And in the final voiceover, Song-yi acknowledges that life doesn’t always go as planned. It can be messy, frustrating, and full of disappointments.
But even when things don’t work out the way you expected?
You keep going. You keep smiling. And sometimes, just sometimes, life surprises you in the best way possible.
FADE TO BLACK. THE END.
DramaZen's Opinion
“I HAVE NEVER SMILED THIS MUCH IN MY LIFE” 🥰
THAT. WAS. PERFECTION.
This finale was everything I wanted—romantic, hilarious, so heartwarming, and it wrapped up everyone’s story in such a satisfying way.
✔ Song-yi FINALLY talking things out instead of overreacting? Check!
✔ Hyun-woo being patient and adorable while she figured out her feelings? Check!
✔ A kiss that made me want to scream into my pillow? CHECK, CHECK, CHECK!
And don’t even get me started on JG running to Hyun-woo for legal help. THIS CHILD IS THE GREATEST!
Also, the fact that Yi-ahn is now on reality TV while Hyun-woo is out here being the softest lawyer boyfriend alive is peak comedy.
And can we please talk about that final BBQ scene?!? My heart is so full. 🥹
I love that the show didn’t go over-the-top with drama—it stayed true to its rom-com roots and gave us a feel-good ending. 10/10, would rewatch forever!
GOODBYE, SORRY NOT SORRY—YOU WERE PURE JOY! 💕
