This week’s episode of Sorry Not Sorry was all about big decisions—who’s leaving, who’s staying, who’s fighting for themselves, and who’s finally (finally!) admitting their feelings. We saw an unexpected redemption arc (hello, Ethan’s mom!), some top-tier friendship moments, and, most importantly, Hyun-woo getting absolutely wrecked over the thought of Song-yi leaving. Let’s break it all down!

Ethan’s Mum’s Redemption Arc (And A Well-Deserved Divorce!)

In a plot twist none of us saw coming, the leader of the gaggle moms—yes, that Ethan’s mum—found herself at Hyun-woo’s office asking for a divorce. Cue shocked gasps!

We flash back to see what led her here, and honestly? Her husband is the worst. He belittles her, tells her she should cook three meals a day because she “doesn’t even earn money,” and—to top it all off—he’s been handing out perfume to other kindergarten moms. (SIR, YOU ARE TRASH.)

But the final straw came at a department store when Ethan was falsely accused of knocking over a display. Instead of standing up for his wife and child, Ethan’s dad scolded her for making a scene. Excuse me?! Enter our queens, Hana, Song-yi, and Chan-yang, who just happened to be shopping nearby and were not about to let this slide. Hana fired back at Ethan’s dad (as she should!), demanding CCTV footage to prove Ethan’s innocence.

Ethan’s mum, seeing how other women were standing up for her, had an epiphany—this is not the life she wanted. Inspired by Hana’s strength, she decided she wasn’t going to stay silent anymore.

Operation Get Ethan’s Mum a Divorce

With the support of her new real friends (aka not the gaggle moms), Ethan’s mum was ready to take action. But first, she made an emotional confession to Hana: she never hated her—she was jealous of her. Seeing Hana balance her career, family, and self-worth made Ethan’s mum realize just how much of herself she had sacrificed.

At the divorce consultation, Hyun-woo dropped some cold, hard legal truth: they needed proof of her husband’s affair. And just like that, the spy squad was activated! Song-yi, Hana, and Chan-yang started investigating, following potential side chicks (I was living for this mission, not gonna lie). But when none of the other gaggle moms checked out, Song-yi had a lightbulb moment—let’s check Ethan’s dad’s food delivery app history!

Bingo! With GPS tracking and some detective work, Ethan’s mum caught her husband red-handed with a serial adulteress (Hyun-woo already knew this woman from a previous case—yikes!). Armed with photo evidence, Ethan’s mum was ready to fight for herself. She thanked Hyun-woo for being as competent as Hana promised and even apologized to Song-yi for last week’s misunderstanding. Then? She left the neighborhood to stay with her parents while sorting out her divorce.

And this is what pushed Song-yi to start questioning her own future. If Ethan’s mum was brave enough to leave, maybe it was time for Song-yi to let go of her own past and move out of her marital apartment for good.

Bromance Brewing & A Lawyer in Denial

Now let’s talk about my new favorite duo: Jin-ho and Hyun-woo. Their gym bromance was everything I didn’t know I needed. Jin-ho almost spilled the beans about dating Song-yi back in college, but quickly backtracked (nice save, buddy). However, Jin-ho did let slip that Song-yi was planning to move, and oof—Hyun-woo did not take that well.

What followed was pure gold. Hyun-woo casually (but totally on purpose) scared off potential buyers looking at Song-yi’s place. (Sir, that is not how real estate works.) Jin-ho, seeing right through Hyun-woo’s nonsense, took him aside for a real talk moment in the stairwell.

Jin-ho: "If you’re this worried about her leaving, maybe—just maybe—you have feelings for her?"
Hyun-woo: "No, no, no. It’s one-sided."
Jin-ho: "Yeah, okay, sure. Keep telling yourself that."

Jin-ho, you are the MVP of this episode!

The Confession That Wasn’t

Fueled by Jin-ho’s accidental therapy session, Hyun-woo marched straight to Song-yi’s door. In a perfect world, this is what should have happened:

Hyun-woo: "Song-yi, I like you. Stay."
Song-yi: "Omg, Hyun-woo, I like you too!"
*Cue romantic hug, dramatic music, and our slow-burn finally paying off.

But instead? It was all in his head. (SIR. SIRRRR.)

When Hyun-woo actually knocked on Song-yi’s door, he was not prepared for her to be in full-on rage mode. Turns out, she just found out about his real estate sabotage (thanks, Yi-ahn 🙄). She was ready to fight (and honestly? Rightfully so!).

Hyun-woo, visibly flustered, barely managed to get out the words:

"I don’t like the idea... I don’t want you to move."

And BOOM. Hyun-woo finally admitted his feelings (sort of), and we were left hanging right there. Rude!

DramaZen's Opinion

Opinion of Sorry Not Sorry

OMG, JUST ADMIT IT ALREADY!

Okay, but seriously—Hyun-woo, my guy, YOU HAVE FEELINGS. ACCEPT IT. Watching him get so worked up over Song-yi moving was hilarious but also painful. When he fantasized about a confession? I felt that secondhand embarrassment.

Also, shoutout to Jin-ho for being the unlikely bromance therapist we all needed! The gym scene? Gold. The stairwell moment? Perfection. I need more of this duo, ASAP.

And can we talk about Ethan’s mum?! Who knew I’d be rooting for her?! Her character development was so satisfying, and I loved seeing our power trio help her realize her worth.

But that ending?? The way Hyun-woo barely managed to choke out that he didn’t want Song-yi to leave?? Screaming, crying, throwing things! He better follow through next week, or I will riot.

BRING ON EPISODE 11—I NEED THIS CONFESSION TO HAPPEN! 💕🔥
