Sorry Not Sorry- Episode 2
This week’s episode of Sorry Not Sorry brings us an emotional rollercoaster of cringe-worthy encounters, heartfelt reconnections, and a whole lot of drama. Our leading lady Ji Song-yi is still trying to find her footing, but life has no intention of making it easy for her. Let’s dive into the highlights of Episode 2, starting with the “weird and creepy ex-boyfriend” department, shall we?
Last week left us with Song-yi storming upstairs to confront her neighbor about her flooding toilet, only to come face-to-face with her ex-boyfriend and his stunningly attractive wife. This week, the cringe intensifies. When the wife approaches the door, Song-yi panics and stomps on her ex’s foot to shut him up before bolting home in embarrassment.
Cue Song-yi’s hilarious meltdown in her apartment as she flails on the floor, mortified by the encounter. But the awkwardness doesn’t end there. The next day, Song-yi bumps into her ex’s wife in the elevator, only to spiral into self-doubt about how someone like him managed to marry someone so gorgeous.
Things take a turn for the unsettling when Song-yi later runs into her ex at the gym. In a creepy move straight out of a thriller, he gets too close and whispers on her neck about wanting to meet privately. Ew. As if that wasn’t bad enough, he crosses the ultimate line by calling Song-yi late at night to confess that he’s in a sexless marriage. Major red flags all around!
Thankfully, the episode isn’t all about creepy exes. One of the best moments comes from Song-yi reconnecting with her old friend Choi Hana. Their reunion is heartwarming as they finally talk about their struggles. Song-yi opens up about feeling like an outsider in the neighborhood, while Hana shares her own challenges balancing motherhood and work.
We also get a glimpse into Hana’s quirky family life. Her scenes with her husband, where they bond over face masks and foot rubs, are equal parts hilarious and adorable. Despite her best efforts to maintain control, Hana reveals that she’s unexpectedly pregnant with her third child, adding another layer of stress to her already full plate. It’s a relief to see her workplace rallying around her, even as she tries to prove she doesn’t need the help.
Meanwhile, Song-yi’s social awkwardness continues to fuel misunderstandings with the kindergarten moms. This week’s rumor? That she owns the coffee shop where she works! Her sweet boss Kim Ye-ahn tries to help her save face in front of the moms by pretending she’s the owner, which only adds to the confusion.
On the flip side, Song-yi learns the kindergarten moms aren’t as perfect as they seem. When she overhears them gossiping about Hana, criticizing her long work hours and parenting choices, Song-yi steps up. She finally opens up to Hana about her own struggles, solidifying their rekindled friendship.
DramaZen's Opinion
OMG, this episode was a total mix of cringe, laughs, and heartfelt moments — and I loved every second of it! First off, can we talk about the creepy ex-boyfriend? Like, ew. The gym scene and that late-night call? I needed a shower just watching it. Song-yi deserves so much better than this guy’s drama. Red flags everywhere!
But honestly, the real highlight was Song-yi reconnecting with Hana. Their friendship feels so genuine, and it’s so refreshing to see two women supporting each other instead of competing. I loved learning more about Hana’s life (her facemask and foot rub moments with her husband were hilarious), and the way Song-yi finally stood up for her against those gossipy kindergarten moms!
Also, can we take a moment for Song-yi’s awkwardness? The coffee shop misunderstanding had me laughing out loud. I love how real and relatable she is. She’s trying her best, even when life throws her constant curveballs, and you can’t help but root for her.
This show just keeps getting better, and I can’t wait to see where Song-yi’s journey goes next. Bring on Episode 3! 🎉💖
