Strong Hearts: The Legacy of Do Sisters- By: Tina Marie
Chapter 22 - The Reckoning Broadcast
A storm was coming.
Not the weather—though the sky over Seoul boiled with thunderclouds—but the storm of truth, vengeance, and exposure.
Do Mi Na stood in her command tower, a cup of black tea untouched beside her.
She watched Chimera’s defeat on every screen. Replayed the slow-motion impact of Rae’s silver-glowing punch. Watched the city erupt in viral awe.
"So," she murmured, "they're ready for phase two."
A technician approached, trembling. "Ma’am, the broadcast system is fully hijacked. We're live in ninety seconds."
She smiled. "Then let’s set the world on fire."
In the An living room, Bong Soon gathered the family. Ji Woo had joined them—now more ally than antagonist.
The TV blinked black, then lit up with Mi Na’s face.
Calm. Sharp. Unapologetic.
"Citizens of the world. You’ve seen miracles. You’ve seen monsters. You’ve seen what lies behind the curtain."
Footage played behind her: Rae fighting Chimera. Rin sprinting past explosions. Blue Star labs erupting into flames.
"Those you call heroes were never meant to protect you. They were designed to distract you. Legacy-borns. Relics of a myth that no longer serves us."
She stepped forward, eyes burning.
"I offer evolution. Control. A world where strength is earned, not inherited."
The screen cut to black. Then a new message appeared:
"ACCEPT THE FUTURE. OR BE CRUSHED BY IT."
Rae stood, fists clenched. "She’s declaring war."
Ji Woo nodded. "And she wants you to fight back—publicly. She knows if you resist in the open, you become the face of the rebellion. Which gives her permission to annihilate it."
Rin grabbed her jacket. "Then we need to stop playing defense. It’s time to flip the board."
Min Hyeok looked at Bong Soon. "If they go forward, there’s no coming back."
Bong Soon stared at her daughters. Her legacy. Her warriors.
"Then we go with them."
