The warehouse was exactly as Do Rae remembered it—abandoned, skeletal, and steeped in shadows. She hadn’t been back since that night.

The night she put Yoon Tae Jin in the ground.

Or so she thought.

He stood under a broken beam now, smirking like a ghost in a leather jacket.

“Still punch first, ask questions never?”

Rae didn’t move.

“You died.”

“Almost. You left me for dead. Reika found me. Gave me a new spine. Literally.”

He pulled back his sleeve, revealing a synthetic framework beneath the skin. Lines of blue light pulsed like veins.

“I’m better now.”

Rae clenched her fists. “You were a monster then. You’re a bigger one now.”

He stepped forward. “But you’re still drawn to monsters, aren’t you?”

Behind her, Jin Seok emerged from the shadows, gun raised. “Step back. Now.”

Tae Jin laughed. “Rookie boyfriend? Cute. Too bad he’s got a glass jaw.”

He moved fast—inhumanly fast—but Rae was faster.

Their bodies collided mid-air in a blur of fists, knees, and the crash of shattered crates.

Rae didn’t hold back this time.

Elsewhere — Legacy HQ, Tracking Lab

Do Rin stood over a multi-spectral map blinking with hot spots. Kang Jae worked beside her, silent but sharp.

“We’re picking up radiation variance around Jindo Island. Neural pulse signatures like yours—but compressed.”

Rin nodded. “She’s there.”

“You think she’s like you?” Jae asked. “Like… actually you?”

“She’s not like me,” Rin replied. “She’s what Mi Na thought I should’ve been. All the power. None of the restraint.”

Jae typed something into the system. “So we do this quiet?”

Rin turned to him, jaw set.

“No. We bring everything.”

Gwanak – Rooftop

Rae landed the final hit with a brutal uppercut that launched Tae Jin backward into a metal wall. He slid down, coughing blood—but smiling.

“You’ve gotten stronger.”

“You’ve gotten dumber,” she snapped, chest heaving. “You let yourself become her puppet.”

“No,” he coughed. “I let myself become your equal.”

She froze.

Behind her, Jin Seok stared, jaw tight.

“What does he mean?”

Rae looked away. “We had history. Before he turned. Before I saw what he really was.”

“You still have feelings for him?”

“No,” she said instantly. Then paused.

“Maybe for who he used to be.”

Tae Jin laughed again. “Too bad. That guy’s gone.”

He pressed a trigger before passing out.

Across the street, a small van exploded.

Rin’s alert flashed red.

Do Reika’s signature… active.

She looked at Jae.

“She’s awake. And she’s moving.”
