Chapter 69 - The Ceremony

Seoul – Legacy Garden Pavilion

It was the kind of day the city rarely gave them—clear skies, a soft breeze, no sirens in the distance.

The courtyard had been transformed. Part ancestral shrine, part modern atrium, it reflected everything the Do Sisters had built: heritage rooted in evolution.

No aisle. No podium. No press.

Just lanterns strung from walnut trees, simple white blossoms tucked into stone vases, and the quiet buzz of loved ones gathering.

This was more than a wedding.

This was the launch of the Legacy Network Charter—a global initiative to train, mentor, and protect the next generation of enhanced individuals. Built on choice, not fear. On empathy, not obedience.

And in its heart, love.

Jin Seok stood at the front, tie slightly crooked, nerves hidden under a stupidly proud grin. Rae, in a simple silk dress with combat boots still visible beneath, walked toward him slowly—not escorted, not given away.

Do Rae walked herself.

Because she chose this life.

And this man.

Beside them, Do Rin stood next to Kang Jae, who wore an actual jacket for once. Their hands brushed occasionally, always by accident, always on purpose.

When the vows began, they weren’t scripted. Just real.

Jin Seok: “You were the storm I wasn’t ready for. And the calm I didn’t think I deserved.”

Rae: “You make me laugh when I’m breaking. You let me be strong without asking me to shrink.”

Rin: “You didn’t run. Even when I warned you.”

Kang Jae: “You’d already caught me.”

They sealed it with a shared toast—no kiss, no spotlight, just two couples standing in the sunlight, arms around each other, anchored.

Then, Rae stepped forward, holding the signed Legacy Charter in one hand.

“This is not an institution. It’s an invitation.”

“To rise. To protect. To lead without conquering.”

“Welcome to the next chapter.”

She placed the document in its case, locking it with her thumbprint. Cheers followed—not the polite kind, but the unfiltered kind. Laughing. Crying. Joy uncontained.

Later that night, when the lights dimmed and the crowd faded…

Rin and Rae sat under the walnut trees again, candles flickering in the breeze.

“We did it,” Rae whispered.

“We’re doing it,” Rin corrected.

They toasted with tea instead of champagne.

Because this wasn’t an ending.

It was a beginning.
