Strong Hearts: The Legacy of Do Sisters- By: Tina Marie

Chapter 64 - Echo Chamber

Seoul – Global Ethics Summit, Broadcast Hall

The world had questions. And now, the world had microphones.

The leak had come from within Legacy HQ—a low-level analyst with secondhand access to the cache logs. It hit the news cycle within hours:

“Do Sisters Withheld Technology That Could End Human Suffering.”
“Ethical Tyranny or Heroic Restraint?”
“Who Decides What The World Deserves?”

Now Do Rin and Do Rae stood on the stage at the Global Ethics Summit, facing a panel of policy makers, tech CEOs, scientists, and an audience of millions.

Flashbulbs. Heat. Judgment.

“You were entrusted with something that could have eliminated violence,” one panelist said. “And you buried it. Why?”

Rae stepped forward first.

“Because eliminating violence doesn’t eliminate choice. Or anger. Or ego. It just mutes the symptoms. Not the disease.”

Another voice—harsher. “So you chose to keep suffering alive?”

Rin's reply was quiet, but unshakable.

“We chose to keep humanity intact.”

“Progress requires risk—”

“And restraint,” she interrupted. “History remembers the people who built the bomb. Not always the ones who chose not to drop it.”

The room stilled.

Outside the Hall – Later

They walked through a sea of reporters, silent. No one could tell if they were being praised or vilified.

Jin Seok met Rae at the bottom of the steps. No words—just a nod, and a small, steady hand squeeze.

Kang Jae stood beside Rin, watching the crowds buzz.

“You know they’ll write articles saying you were afraid,” he said.

“I hope they do,” Rin replied. “Because fear means we were awake.”

That Night – Legacy HQ Roof

The sisters sat under a sky thick with stars, too tired to speak.

Then Rae broke the silence.

“Would you change it? If we could go back?”

“Not a thing,” Rin said.

“Even if it means people hate us?”

Rin turned to her.

“We didn’t get this power to be adored. We got it to protect the future. Even when it doesn’t thank us for it.”

Rae exhaled, eyes shining.

“You always know what to say.”

“I just say what you need to hear.”

Inside the HQ – Unseen

A small group of girls stood in the hallway, watching the sisters through the glass.

New recruits.

One of them whispered, “That’s them.”

Another said, “That’s who I want to be.”
