Chapter 116 - Boardroom Power Plays and Embarrassing Confessions

Last Updated on 2025-01-05 16:54:14

The conference room at Foster Industries was abuzz with muted chatter and anticipation. Asher Foster walked in with an air of authority, flanked by Matthew and Tristan. A ripple of shock swept through the room at the sight of him.

“It’s been a long time, ladies and gentlemen,” Asher greeted with a disarming smile, leaving the board members speechless. “Twelve years, to be precise. But I’m back. And I see we have some new faces among us.”

The whispers grew louder, a mix of confusion and intrigue. The sight of Asher alive and well after years of presumed death was enough to unnerve even the most stoic members of the board. Just as they began to collect themselves, Andrew King strode in, his commanding presence adding another layer of tension.

“Good morning, father-in-law,” Andrew greeted Asher warmly before addressing the board. “Kings Corp now holds the third-largest share percentage in Foster Industries.”

He handed Asher a sleek folder, the action emphasizing the gravity of the statement.

Tristan raised a brow, curiosity flashing in his eyes. “How did you get the shares that belonged to White Corp?”

Andrew smirked, exuding confidence. “I bought them. It wasn’t that difficult.”

Asher’s grin widened. “Thank you, Andrew. This makes my next decision much easier.”

He turned to the room, his gaze sweeping over the board members. “Effective immediately, I am announcing that Tristan Foster will serve as the new CEO of Foster Industries. Matthew Foster will take on the role of CFO. Any objections?”

The room was silent except for murmurs of agreement. No one dared to challenge Asher’s authority, and with the King family’s involvement, it was clear that any resistance would be futile.

With a nod of satisfaction, Asher adjourned the meeting. The board members left, whispers of speculation trailing behind them.

Eva peeked her head into the room, a warm smile lighting up her face. “Tristan, I brought lunch for everyone.”

Andrew’s expression softened as his gaze landed on his wife. The corners of his lips curved upward in a small, adoring smile. Asher caught the exchange and decided to have a little fun.

“Eva dear,” Asher began, his tone deceptively innocent, “last night I heard some noise coming from your room.”

Tristan smirked, immediately catching onto his father’s teasing. “Me too, Papa.”

Eva’s eyes widened as her cheeks flushed. “No, you must’ve heard wrong. I was just… watching a movie.”

Andrew shifted uncomfortably, clearing his throat. He had hoped to avoid this exact situation, but it seemed their secret was out.

Asher wasn’t ready to let her off the hook. “Are you sure, my dear daughter? The noises sounded quite… lively.”

Eva’s face turned crimson as she stammered, “Papa! I—I…”

Andrew decided to intervene, grabbing Eva’s hand and pulling her toward the door. “Eva, let’s go. I have something to show you,” he muttered, his voice low.

As they exited, Asher chuckled. “He’s just like his father.”

Matthew smiled knowingly. “He loves Eva very much.”

“I can see that,” Asher agreed before turning his attention to Tristan. “Now, my dear son, when will you be having a wedding?”

Tristan looked at him, confused. “A wedding?”

“Will you admit it, or should I set the date myself?” Asher smirked.

Tristan sighed, knowing there was no point in denying anything. “Let her finish her studies first, Papa.”

“Fine, but don’t make me wait too long, son,” Asher smiled wile patting Tristan’s shoulder.

Once they were far enough from the conference room, Andrew stopped, releasing Eva’s hand. She turned to him, her face still red with embarrassment.

“This is so mortifying,” Eva groaned, covering her face with her hands.

Andrew chuckled softly, his tone laced with amusement. “Angel, there’s no need to be shy. We’re married. It’s normal.”

“How can you be so shameless?” Eva whined, looking up at him with an accusing glare. “I don’t want them to know about… last night.”

Andrew’s smirk widened as he shrugged. “Why not? Everyone does it. Besides, don’t you want to make babies with me?”

Eva gasped, her cheeks burning hotter. “Andrew! Stop talking about it!” She tried to turn away, flustered. “I’m leaving.”

But Andrew’s demeanor shifted. His voice dropped into a deep, commanding tone. “Did I say you could leave?”

Eva froze, turning to face him with narrowed eyes. “Excuse me? Don’t speak to me in that tone. I’m your wife.”

Andrew’s gaze was intense, his resolve unwavering. “And you’re my personal assistant who’s been taking leave without my consent. You need to be punished.”

Eva crossed her arms, glaring back at him. “It’s lunchtime. You’d better come with me.”

For a moment, they stared each other down, the tension between them electric. Then Andrew’s lips twitched into a faint smile, and he followed after her, his love for her evident in every step he took.
