Chapter 121 - A Family Complete

The King and Foster families filled the hospital waiting room with a tense yet excited energy as they waited for news from the delivery room. Andrew paced furiously, his hands raking through his hair as worry etched into every line of his face.

Inside the room, Eva's cries of pain reached his ears, driving him to a breaking point. “Let me in,” Andrew demanded, his voice edged with desperation.

Anthony, ever calm, nodded to the nurse. “Let him through,” he said.

As soon as the door opened, Andrew rushed to Eva’s side. She lay in the hospital bed, sweat beading on her forehead and tears streaming down her cheeks.

“An… Andrew,” Eva cried out as she clutched his hand. “It hurts so much.”

Andrew’s heart ached as he held her trembling hand. “I know, Angel, I know,” he murmured soothingly. “It will be over soon, and our baby will be here. I’m here with you—you’re not alone.”

Eva’s face twisted in determination as Anthony’s calm but firm voice guided her. “Push, Eva. You’re almost there.”

Thirty minutes later, the room erupted with the sound of newborn cries—first one, then another. Eva collapsed back against the pillows, her body spent and her eyes fluttering closed.

“Sweetheart, wake up,” Andrew said in panic, gripping her hand tightly. “Don’t leave me.”

“She’s just exhausted, sir,” a nurse reassured him. “She’ll wake up soon after some rest.”

Hours later, Eva remained asleep. Andrew sat vigil at her bedside, his hand stroking her hair as worry clouded his features.

“Sir,” a nurse interrupted softly, wheeling in two small cribs. “You need to hold the babies. They need you now.”

Andrew didn’t respond, his eyes fixed on Eva. “Andrew,” Anthony said, placing a firm hand on his shoulder. “Look at me. The babies need their father. Eva would want you to take care of them.”

After a moment’s hesitation, Andrew nodded. He stood and approached the cribs, his expression softening as he gazed at the two tiny bundles.

The nurse gently handed him the little boy first, and Andrew held him against his chest. Then the baby girl was placed beside him, both cradled securely in his strong arms.

“They’re so little,” Andrew whispered, his voice choked with emotion.

“They’re beautiful,” Nora said as she entered the room, her eyes misty as she looked at her grandchildren. “You two did a wonderful job.”

“Eva did most of the work,” Andrew replied, a tender smile on his lips as he stared down at the babies.

As family members took turns marveling at the newborns, Eva’s eyes fluttered open. She turned her head and saw Andrew sitting beside her, their twins nestled against his chest. A tired but radiant smile spread across her face.

“Andrew,” Eva said weakly. “We have twins.”

Andrew’s head snapped toward her, relief washing over his features. He stood quickly, bringing the babies with him. “You’re awake. I was so worried,” he said, leaning down to kiss her softly. “Yes, Angel, we have twins.”

Eva’s eyes filled with tears as she reached for one of the babies. Andrew gently placed the little girl in her arms, his heart swelling as he saw the love in her eyes.

“They’re perfect,” Eva said, stroking the baby’s cheek.

“Thank you, Eva,” Andrew whispered, his voice thick with emotion. “Thank you for bringing these little miracles into our lives.”

“You don’t need to thank me,” Eva replied with a soft laugh. “This was a team effort.”

The family left the couple to bond with their new additions. Andrew sat beside Eva, watching as she fed the twins. He couldn’t take his eyes off her, his admiration for her growing with every passing second.

“Andrew,” Eva said, glancing up at him. “Do you think I’ll make a good mom?”

“Of course you will,” Andrew said without hesitation. “You’re already doing a great job.”

Eva smiled, reassured by his words. “We need to name them.”

“What do you think?” Andrew asked.

“I like Anthony for the boy, and Eve for the girl,” Eva said thoughtfully.

Andrew’s smile widened. “I like those names too.”

Eva leaned down and whispered the names to each baby. As if in approval, both opened their tiny eyes and gazed up at her.

“Looks like they like their names,” Andrew chuckled, his heart full.

Eva laughed softly and looked back at her husband. “I’m so happy.”

“Me too, Angel,” Andrew said, leaning in to kiss her forehead.

As the twins fell asleep in their parents’ arms, the room was filled with a profound sense of peace and love. The family of four was finally complete, and life had never felt more perfect.
