Chapter 99 - Whispers of Love and Looming Vows

Irene lay in bed, her phone resting on her chest as she stared at the glowing screen. Tristan’s words, “My Love... Sweet dreams,” played in her mind like a melody she couldn’t ignore. Her fingers hovered over the keyboard before she typed back:

Irene: Your love?

His response was almost instant.

Tristan: You are mine now.

Irene’s heart raced, her cheeks flushed. Was she dreaming? Did this mean Tristan truly cared for her? She hesitated before replying:

Irene: Am I dreaming?

Tristan: No. Sleep. I will see you soon.

Irene: Goodnight đŸ„°

The smile that spread across her face was involuntary. Snuggling into her blankets, she let the warmth of his words lull her into peaceful slumber. For the first time in days, she felt hopeful.

The next evening, the dining room at the King mansion was filled with an unusual tension. Vanessa leaned over to Leonard, whispering, “Why have all our kids been so moody lately?”

Leonard nodded. “It’s strange, but maybe they’re just tired. We should do something to cheer them up.”

Vanessa’s eyes lit up with an idea. “A holiday! Let’s send them all on a vacation.”

Jennifer, seated across from them, chuckled softly. “Forget a holiday, Vanessa. What we really need is to plan a wedding.”

“A wedding?” Vanessa repeated, her brow arching with curiosity.

Jennifer nodded knowingly. “Evander and Mia. They’ve been inseparable. It’s time.”

Matthew, sitting quietly beside them, smiled. “I agree, but we should talk to the two of them first.”

As if on cue, Evander and Mia walked into the room, their arms locked together, smiles lighting up their faces. Vanessa smirked. “These kids are shameless.”

Evander, oblivious to the teasing, turned to Mia. “Cutie pie, let’s get married soon.”

Mia blushed furiously. “Evan!” she hissed, her eyes darting to the room’s other occupants.

Orion, seated near Matthew, cleared his throat to break the awkward silence. Evander grinned sheepishly but didn’t let go of Mia’s hand.

Matthew’s voice was kind as he said, “Let’s arrange the marriage, then.”

Evander’s face lit up like a child on Christmas morning. “Are you serious?!” Without waiting for a reply, he bolted out of the mansion, shouting, “I’ll tell my parents!”

Mia’s jaw dropped. “That idiot just left me here!” she muttered, her embarrassment evident.

Jennifer chuckled. “Your daughter is adorable, Matthew.”

Vanessa agreed. “It’s good to see her so happy.”

At the Kane Mansion, Evander burst through the doors, his voice echoing through the halls. “Mom! Dad! Aunt Tiara!”

Amber Kane, Evander’s mother, appeared in the foyer with a curious expression. “What’s all the commotion about, Evan?”

Julian Kane, Evander’s father, followed close behind. “What’s gotten into you?”

“I’m getting married!” Evander announced proudly.

Tiara, his aunt, scoffed from the doorway. “Married? To who? I pity the poor girl.”

Evander’s face fell for a moment before he straightened. “To Mia Foster.”

The room grew silent as Amber and Julian exchanged a glance. Tiara’s smirk disappeared, replaced by a thoughtful frown.

“You mean Matthew Foster’s daughter?” Amber asked cautiously.

“Yes,” Evander said firmly. “We’re meeting at the King mansion tomorrow to finalize everything.”

Tiara’s expression darkened, but she said nothing. Julian rested a hand on her shoulder. “Let it go,” he whispered.

Evander, unaware of the silent tension, shared everything that had transpired, including the fate of Camilla and Jessica. His parents listened in stunned silence as he recounted the events.

When he excused himself for the night, Tiara turned to Amber. “I won’t be going tomorrow.”

Amber sighed, her worry evident. “What should we do, Julian?”

Julian looked out the window. “Let time take care of the future. For now, we support our son.”

Back at the King mansion, Irene was still lost in thoughts of Tristan when Mia burst into her room. “Irene! He proposed, and Dad agreed!” she squealed, throwing herself onto the bed beside her sister-in-law.

Irene laughed at Mia’s excitement. “It’s about time,” she teased.

“Shut up!” Mia retorted, but her smile was too wide to hide.

Downstairs, Leonard sighed as he realized Andrew, Ava, and Alex were still nowhere to be seen. “Where is everyone?” he asked Vanessa.

“I don’t know,” she replied. “But poor Alex. He’s the only one who’s still single.”

Jennifer nodded. “I hope he finds someone soon. He deserves happiness too.”

As the family prepared for the upcoming wedding and the twists of fate that lay ahead, the mansion buzzed with a mixture of excitement, tension, and the promise of new beginnings.
