Chapter 61 - The Sweetest Temptation

Connor’s lips hovered above hers for a brief moment, their breath mingling in the charged air between them. Then, with a tender touch, he kissed her again, slowly and deeply, before letting his lips trail down to her jawline. Each kiss was a gentle caress, a soft whisper of warmth against her skin. He moved down the side of her neck, his lips brushing against her pulse, feeling it quicken beneath his touch. When he reached the soft skin at the base of her neck, he couldn’t resist nibbling lightly, teasing the delicate flesh with his teeth.

A shiver ran through Wren’s body, and she couldn’t help the soft moan that escaped her lips. “Mmm… yes… it’s nice,” she murmured, her voice thick with a mixture of surprise and pleasure.

The light, tingly sensations danced across her skin, making her feel more alive than she had in a long time. But something else was happening, too—something unexpected and unfamiliar. There was a warmth building in her lower abdomen, a sensation that spread slowly and made her feel strangely wet down below.

What is this? she wondered, her mind racing with confusion. Why do I feel this way? I’ve never felt this before. Should I be scared? But… it doesn’t feel scary like before, with that jerk.

She felt Connor’s lips descend further, kissing down her collarbone and lingering at the top of her shoulder. His lips continued their journey, tracing the line of her collarbone until they reached the soft, fleshy part of her breast. She hadn’t even realized she was doing it, but her hand instinctively moved to the back of Connor’s head, her fingers slipping through his hair.

His hair felt silky and soft between her fingers, and she found herself holding him in place as he kissed her. Then, without warning, she felt his warm tongue flick out and lick the top of her breast. The sensation was startling, and she jumped slightly, tensing as his saliva left a warm, wet trail across her skin.

Connor paused immediately, looking up at her with concern. “Are you okay? I can stop,” he offered, his voice filled with genuine worry.

But Wren was surprised to find that she didn’t want him to stop. In fact, she was curious—excited, even—to see what he would do next. “No,” she whispered, her voice steady despite the rapid beating of her heart. “Keep going. I’ll tell you if I don’t like it. I was just… surprised.”

A grin spread across Connor’s face, relieved and a little mischievous. Without another word, he lowered his head again, returning to the spot he had just kissed. His tongue resumed its gentle exploration, licking the soft skin of her breast.

“You taste so sweet,” he murmured between kisses, his voice filled with a kind of reverent wonder. “Did you know that?”

Wren’s breath caught in her throat. “Do I?” she asked, her voice trembling with a mix of disbelief and curiosity.

“Better than any dessert,” Connor whispered, his lips brushing against her skin as he spoke.

Wren couldn’t help the skeptical laugh that bubbled up. “You’re lying,” she teased, though there was a part of her that wanted to believe him.

Connor’s grin widened. “I’ll prove it to you,” he said, his tone playful but determined.

Before she could respond, he slipped his finger under the strap of her red-laced bra, pulling the fabric down to expose her nipple. The sudden exposure made her gasp, but before she could fully process it, she felt the warmth of his mouth again—this time, his tongue gliding across her sensitive nipple. The sensation was intense, sending a shudder through her entire body, and she felt the wetness pooling between her legs again, more insistent this time.

Her fingers tightened in his hair, and her other hand gripped the bedsheet, anchoring her as her body reacted to his touch. “Ahh… what are you doing?” she breathed, her voice barely above a whisper.

Connor looked up at her, his eyes dark with desire. “I’m eating the sweetest thing I’ve ever tasted,” he murmured, his words punctuated by another playful lick. “Mmm…”

Wren couldn’t believe what was happening—couldn’t believe that she was letting him do this, that she was enjoying it so much. His mouth on her, his tongue teasing and tasting her, should have made her feel scared, disgusted, or at the very least uncomfortable. But all she felt was a growing impatience, an overwhelming desire for more of his touch, more of his kisses.

That sexy mouth of his was melting her, dissolving her fears and inhibitions in a way she hadn’t thought possible. Instead of wanting to pull away, she found herself craving more—more of him, more of the pleasure he was giving her. And as he continued to kiss and tease her, she realized with a mix of surprise and exhilaration that she didn’t want him to stop.
