Chapter 63 - The Burning Flame

Connor’s smile was soft and teasing as he dipped his head back down, his focus entirely on Wren. His hands, strong yet gentle, gripped her hips as he positioned himself between her legs. The intimacy of the moment was both thrilling and terrifying for Wren, her heart pounding in her chest as she lay beneath him.

He looked up at her, a playful glint in his eyes as he grinned. “Are you ready, Sunshine?”

Wren’s nerves flared, her voice trembling as she answered, “I guess so. Please… be gentle.”

The tension in the room was thick, every breath she took heavy with anticipation. But before she could fully process her thoughts, her ears were filled with the sound of her own desperate moans, echoing off the walls, each one more intense than the last.

Connor’s tongue moved against her in ways she never imagined possible, his touch igniting a fire deep within her. She looked down at him, her fingers instinctively tangled in his hair, pulling him closer with each flick of his tongue. His head moved rhythmically, his every action calculated to drive her wild.

Her body was a live wire, every nerve ending buzzing with electricity. She was burning up, her skin flushed, her heart racing. The heat was unbearable, overwhelming, and she found herself gasping for air.

“Con… Connor…” Her voice was breathless, her body trembling under his touch.

“Yes, Sunshine?” he replied, his tone low and seductive.

“I feel so hot all over,” she confessed, her voice a mere whisper.

Connor’s breath was warm against her as he chuckled softly. “Let my tongue cool you off.”

But Wren shook her head, her mind foggy with desire. “It’s making me hotter, not cooler.”

Connor’s laugh rumbled against her, the vibration sending a new wave of sensations through her. His breath tickled her in the most intimate place, causing her to squirm beneath him. She tugged lightly at his hair, her frustration mingling with pleasure.

“It’s not funny,” she protested, her voice shaky. Suddenly, she felt a sharp, unexpected sting. “Ouch… what was that?”

Connor looked up at her, a mischievous smile playing on his lips. “A love bite for your punishment.”

“You bit me… down there?” Wren’s shock was palpable, her eyes wide.

Connor’s grin widened, unrepentant. “It was just a little nibble.”

“A nibble… it hurt,” she complained, her voice a mix of confusion and something else she couldn’t quite name.

“Hush,” Connor murmured, his tone softening as he placed a gentle kiss on the spot he had bitten. “I’ll kiss it and make it all better.”

True to his word, he resumed his ministrations, his mouth working its magic once more. Wren’s mind was spinning, her body teetering on the edge of sanity as the sensations threatened to overwhelm her. She felt as if she would burn for an eternity, lost in the inferno Connor had ignited within her.

But then, something changed. The fire that had consumed her so completely suddenly flickered out, replaced by an icy chill that spread through her body. The warmth was gone, leaving her feeling cold and empty.

Connor paused, instantly aware of the shift in her. He looked up at her, his eyes filled with concern and regret. He knew he had gone too far, pushed her past a boundary she wasn’t ready to cross.

“Wren, I…” he started, his voice laced with guilt.

But Wren shook her head, her voice barely audible as she whispered, “It’s okay… I just… I need a moment.”

Connor moved up beside her, his arms wrapping around her trembling form. He pulled her close, his embrace offering the warmth her body craved. “I’m sorry, Sunshine,” he murmured into her hair, his voice thick with remorse. “I didn’t mean to hurt you.”

Wren leaned into him, her body still shaking as she tried to process the whirlwind of emotions swirling within her. “I know,” she whispered back, her voice trembling. “It’s just… everything is so new, so intense.”

Connor held her tighter, his lips pressing a tender kiss to her forehead. “We’ll go as slow as you need, okay? I’ll never rush you.”

Wren nodded, grateful for his understanding. She closed her eyes, letting the warmth of his embrace soothe the lingering chill. She knew they had crossed a line tonight, one that couldn’t be uncrossed. But she also knew that with Connor by her side, she was ready to face whatever came next, even if it meant confronting her fears head-on.

As she lay there in his arms, the world outside faded away, leaving only the two of them in the quiet of the night. And in that moment, Wren realized that despite the intensity, despite the fear, she wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
